Buried Wires = Pet Safety?

An invisible dog fence is the perfect safety solution to keeping your dog within your house’s boundaries. Often, pet owners will find that their dogs have an urge to jump fences and run out into busy roads outside. However, the use of a pet containment system means that pets can stay well within the confines of a house without restricting their freedom too much.

A wire is buried around the house parameter and is connected up to a transmitter which emits a signal to your dog’s collar every time it gets too near the boundary. A correction (usually a static shock or a buzz or a combination of the two) is sent to your dog’s collar so that he knows not to approach the boundary again. If he persists, the corrections can get more frequent until he backs away. This is an effective method of dog training and can be used to keep dogs out of certain flower beds or away from your pond.

An indoor dog fence can work in much the same way, where you can set out which areas of the house you don’t want your dog to enter. After a short training period he will understand where he can and can’t go.
